This article highlights  the range of KEMET COTS grade tantalum capacitors.

The KEMET T493 Series

This series of KEMET COTS grade tantalum capacitors are designed for high reliability aerospace and military applications. The series offers Weibull grading options, surge current testing and Simulated Breakdown Voltage (SBDV) options.

Standard, low ESR and ultra-low ESR versions are available.

Capacitance range is 0.1µF – 470µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 63Vdc.

The KEMET T493 Space Grade Series

This space grade version of the T493 Series are also designed for the high reliability aerospace and military applications. The series meets the requirements of MIL-PRF-55365 and MIL-STD-1580.

Fused versions for fail-safe operation, and multi-anode designs for ultra-low ESR performance are also available.

Capacitance range is 0.1µF – 330µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 50Vdc.

The KEMET T495 Series

This series of KEMET COTS grade tantalum capacitors are designed for demanding applications that require high surge current and high ripple current capabilities.

The series is approved for DLA Drawing 95158.

Capacitance range is 4.7µF – 220µF and operating voltage range 6Vdc – 50Vdc.

The KEMET T496 Series

This series of surface mount tantalum electrolytic capacitors features a built-in fuse that provides protection against short circuit conditions.

The series meets MIL-PRF-55365 and is suitable for high reliability applications.

Capacitance range is 0.15µF – 470µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 50Vdc.

The KEMET T497 Series

This series of surface mount tantalum electrolytic capacitors is a COTS version of the KEMET CWR09, 19 and 29 devices that offers Weibull grading options, X-ray inspection, surge current testing, an improved anode manufacturing process and Simulated Breakdown Voltage screening options.

The series is suitable for use in aerospace, medical and military applications.

Capacitance range is 0.1µF – 150µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 50Vdc.

The KEMET T497 Space Grade Series

This series of KEMET COTS grade tantalum electrolytic capacitors is suitable for use in high reliability space applications.

Weibull Grading to levels B 0r C and surge current testing are available, and options include fused versions for built-in circuit protection, multi-anode designs for ultra low ESR performance and a choice of termination finishes.

Capacitance range is 0.1µF – 150µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 50Vdc.

The KEMET T513 Series

This series of KEMET COTS grade tantalum capacitors features a multi-anode design for ultra low ESR, high ripple current performance.

Weibull Grading, surge current testing, and a choice of termination finishes are available.

Capacitance range is 15µF – 1,000µF and operating voltage range 4Vdc – 35Vdc.

The KEMET T540 Series

This series of surface mount KEMET COTS grade tantalum capacitors is an ultra-low ESR device with screening options for high reliability applications and surge current ratings.

The device is approved for DLA Drawing 04051, and is suitable for defence and aerospace applications.

Capacitance range is 4.7µF – 680µF and operating voltage range 2.5Vdc – 63Vdc.

The KEMET T541 Series

This series of surface mount tantalum polymer capacitors is a lower ESR version of the T540 device.

The device is also approved for DLA Drawing 04051, and is suitable for defence and aerospace applications.

Capacitance range is 10µF – 1,500µF and operating voltage range 2.5Vdc – 63Vdc.

The KEMET T543 Series

This series of ultra-low ESR surface mount tantalum polymer capacitors is an upscreened version of the industrial grade T543 Series from KEMET.

The device is 100% surge tested and is available in 100% Tin(Sn) or Tin-lead (SnPb) terminations.

Capacitance range is 4.7µF – 1,500µF and operating voltage range 2.5Vdc – 63Vdc.
