The typical upper operating temperature limit for a high temperature aluminum electrolytic capacitor is +125°C. Some manufacturers, for example Elna, NIC Components and Nichicon, produce radial leaded and surface mount devices rated to 130°C and 135°C for heavier duty automotive and industrial applications (we will feature these devices in a later post).
In this article, we feature the handful of aluminum electrolytic capacitors designed and produced to operate at +140°C for ultra heavy duty automotive, industrial and avionics applications.
